Friday 22nd September : US Cemetary Margraten / Bastogne

On the 22nd, the group left Eindhoven for Bastogne, stopping at the beautiful resting place Margraten, the U.S. National Cemetary,
where, together or individually, we placed 100 roses on the graves of fallen soldiers.

NETHERLANDS AMERICAN CEMETERY AND MEMORIAL

Margraten was also the place where each of us said their goodbyes.

And where we were reminded of the "torch" in Operation Torch

After a last lunch in The Netherlands, we set off for the city of Bastogne in Belgium. There was time in the
afternoon for everyone to explore the city, McAuliffe square, and do some souvenir shopping before leaving
for our hotel in the quaint old town of Houffalize. We gasped at the beauty of such old buildings.

It was time to rest for a busy day tomorrow.
