Screaming Eagles of WWII books


Piet Pulles ("Pete" to his American friends) is the author of the series of books "Screaming Eagles of WWII" and the separate book
"Honored Dead of WWII". It took more than 20 years to collect the basic information on all participants of the American Army
paratrooper unit: the 101st Airborne Division. The booklets have become a well-known reference within the Airborne world and are, on a non-profit base, available only through the Screaming Eagles of WWII Foundation who own the copyright.

The books, divided per unit, contain all 101st Airborne troopers who participated in WWII. Information consists of name, rank, unit, home state, date killed in action, date missing in action, date wounded in action and any additional information like killed in plane crash, grenade, place of burial. Never complete, they are the most used and most accurate reference material to any researcher.

The separate booklet Honored Dead of WWII is distilled from the series Screaming Eagles of WWII.
The book contains two lists of the 101st Airborne soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. One list is in alphabetical order.
The second lists is in chronological order of dates killed or missing in action.

The back of the booklet is respectfully graced by a photo of the sign which stood at the wartime temporary cemetery for American soldiers named Wolfswinkel at Son (near Eindhoven).
